Put a plug in it

Plug

Plug

It’s been a while now since Grace graduated to the big bath. It happened partly because she was throwing water all over our appliances, or trying to raid the compost bin, when we attempted to bath her on the kitchen bench and partly because we started needing to hose her down so many times a day once she started eating solids. She loves the bath, she especially loves to bath with Isabelle, but most of all she loves the plug. She loves to pull it, she loves to chew it and she doesn’t seem to mind at all that she loses the water in the process. So generally speaking she spends most of her time in an empty bath, unless Isabelle is there to sit on the plug for us.

Grace started trying to say “bath” last Thursday. We were in the baby change rooms of Westfield Bondi and an older child turned the tap on in the sink right next to us. It was running hard and sounded just like our on bath filling and the sink was quite big enough for Grace to bath in. She immediately perked right up, looked me in the eye to get my attention and with great excitement said “BA! BA!”. She is not much into the B sounds and it was quite clear to me what she was saying. I am sure I missed all these early communication attempts from Isabelle thinking “She’s way to young”.
