Getting Organised

Grace is getting organised. Or she is organising us. Certainly she is very concerned with the rightness of things at the moment. Last night she found Jesse’s sandals in the wrong place and dutifully moved them to their customary spot under the kitchen dresser. She is also concerned that Shae (the dog) is no longer wearing his “hat” (elizabethan collar) and keeps following him around with it, determinedly trying to apply it to him.

Most interesting of all she seems to have taken on board the importance of maintaining all of our baby proofing measures and has started enforcing them herself! She often reminds me to shut the “doowa” and is quite concerned that the bathroom and pantry doors remain shut and likewise that the baby gate should always be closed properly. This last point causes her some difficulty in getting through said gate as she is so pre-occupied with returning it to it’s appropriate state that she forgets to go through it first. Which can be quite painful as she repeatedly asks for it to be opened, shuts it on herself and then complains about being stuck in the other room. As I type she is dutifully posting to the other side of said gate the items that she feels would be better stored in the lounge room, this is an activity she undertook for the first time on the weekend. It was pretty cute the first time and is still pretty cute today, but I see it wearing thin rather fast….

She often gives a pleased little grunt and distinct nod when she successfully achieves one of her organisational goals. It’s just delicious.

PS. I have been taking photos. Lots of photos. They will be coming soon…
